Bathrooms need particularly careful planning. Unless we have the luxury of building our home from scratch, it is generally a smaller room than a kitchen or bedroom, with limitations inevitably created by plumbing, drainage, windows and so on.

As with the kitchen, good planning and design is a mixture of logic and inspiration, with a measure of self-indulgence thrown in. It is a place where we can slow down, allow the stresses of the day to fall away from us, a place of privacy and relaxation.
